Overcoming Adversity Abstract

Often, we cruise through life, handling its ups and downs until a storm hits—a divorce, job loss, health crisis, or a family death. This upheaval, known as adversity, disrupts life as we knew it, turning it upside down. Seeking help is crucial, but equally important is learning to navigate life anew once the storm subsides. Despite the severity of adversity, realizing it could have been worse can shift perspective. You’re still standing, with earth beneath your feet, not above you.
In my interactive presentation, I guide the audience through three steps of hope, also known as the ABC’s of Overcoming Adversity. These steps lead to a renewal of life’s possibilities, as testified by Nicole Flores: “Myself and the entire audience were engaged and excited about getting their lives back on track after hearing Leroy speak.”
